Path of Building – Passive Skill Tree

You can find an optimized Path of Building here. Every build I release will use the community fork of Path of Building, which is maintained and updated in a much more regular fashion than the original one. You can find PoB’s Fork, by LocalIdentity, here.

Awakened Gems

A lot of gems nowadays in Path of Exile have Awakened versions. These version will generally be a lot more powerful than the widely available Regular versions. Therefore the should be purchased whenever you can afford them. When the gems listed down here mention Awakened Gems, you are supposed to use their regular versions until you can afford the upgrade.

For most people, leveling these Gems up takes way too much time so you’re generally offered two choices.

• You can just buy a leveled version.
• You can buy the Wild Brambleback beasts and use the Menagerie craft to upgrade Increase the level of non-Corrupted Awakened Gem by 1.

Gem Setups

Disclaimer

The gemlist mentioned here assumes you’re running the midgame version of the build. In case you are running the high-end version, follow the links in that PoB. For earlier versions, following rules apply:

- Before you obtain a Profane Proxy you run a Blasphemy Curse setup (Blasphemy linked to Flammability or Elemental Weakness, depending on whether or not you have a Curse on Hit Ring) instead of Skitterbots.
- If you don’t have the Whispers of Doom notable yet, prioritize Flammability over Elemental Weakness.
- If you don’t have a Curse on Hit ring yet, prioritize Flammability over Elemental Weakness.

Hexblast – Main Link (6-Link)

Tip: Given the tremendous clear this build already offers, quality on Hexblast is of lesser importance. Grab a level 21/0 Quality gem which should be really cheap and a sizeable damage upgrade. Later on, when you’re swimming in currency, feel free to upgrade to a 21/20

Aura Setup

Vaal Grace goes onto your Auras. Eventhough you’ll have unreserved mana remaining, you’ll be needing that mana to reserve in order to place your mines_

Wither Setup

Eventhough Hexblast scales from f.e. Flammability, because it treats the enemies’ lowest resistance as equal to its chaos resistance, it still deals Chaos Damage. Therefore a Wither setup is close to mandatory. Drop these on bosses before you frontload all of your Damage

Defenses

1. Cast when Damage Taken Support (L1)
2. Immortal Call (L3)

Debuff

Bear Trap causes enemies to take more damage. Throw a Bear Trap under the boss so it amplifies your total output

Mobility

_ You can opt into both Shield Charge & a Dash for this build. Whether you want to run Flame Dash or Frostblink is preference_

Profane Proxy & Curses

_Because you have the Whispers of Doom notable, you’re able to put 2 Hexes on Enemies. These hexes will be elemental weakness & flammability. Either one of those goes into your Profane Proxy. Whichever one of those you do not have as a Curse on Hit on your second ring, is the one that goes into the proxy.
