Ascendancy (Duelist – Champion)

Unstoppable Hero

Unstoppable Hero is actually a super interesting node for use while leveling because you gain a ton of Attack Speed & Armour / Evasion. Sadly, you’re going to wait to use it until you get to your next Lab though.

Fortitude

This node gives you permanent Fortification or Fortify. 20% Less damage taken from all hits is an incredible layer of defence and the entire reason why we’re a Champion.

Conqueror

Because, after taking Fortitude, we need to find some more defense, Conqueror gives you another 10% mitigation. Combined with Fortitude this makes Champion incredibly durable.

Worthy Foe

Finally, we do take some damage in the Ascendancy. Worthy Foe makes us not have to deal with Accuracy whatsoever & frees up a lot of affixes / skills to use elsewhere. Additionally, enemies then take 20% more damage from you which is pretty solid as a single Ascendancy point.

Bandits

This build really doesn’t need anything from the Bandit options, so you should kill all. Oak is just too weak to warrant the two skill points and Alira and Kraityn really don’t do anything for us. Two skill points from Eramir it is!

Pantheons

Major God

No debate here, Soul of the Brine King, because it’s the most convenient way to become freeze immune. Make sure to upgrade it to obtain the Freeze immunity.

Minor God

Again, no real choice here, Soul of Abberath is a necessary upgraded Pantheon to deal with burning ground. Playing without burning ground immunity nowadays is just borderline impossible.

Upgrading your Pantheons

Pantheon powers can be upgraded by using Divine Vessel in the Map Device while you are activating the particular Map that contains the boss you need. Once you’ve killed the boss and captured his soul, you can consume the Divine Vessel, which’ll show up filled in the map device, or deliver it to Sin in Oriath for extra dialogue relating to the game’s lore.
