Ascendancy (Shadow – Trickster)

Swift Killer

Swift Killer fills in some leveling gaps. Since this build is probably not played as a starter, grabbing the remainder of the Ascendancy points should go fast so I’m picking the best leveling option here.

Escape Artist

Escape Artist is the enabler for Ghost Dance. Since you recover an amount of Energy Shield based on your Evasion when you lose a Ghost Shroud, Ghost Dance wouldn’t be too good if you wouldn’t get a decent source of Evasion elsewhere. Escape Artist gives you Energy Shield based on Evasion on your Body Armor, which allows you to run an Evasion based or hybrid Body Armor. It does the exact opposite for your Helmet slot, making sure you’re grabbing an extra chunk of Evasion there. Lastly, grabbing some Cast Speed is something Penance Brand Penance Brand really likes.

Harness the Void

Harness the Void is an exceptional way of scaling a conversion build. As already explained in the build’s general overview, the extra Chaos damage is granted for each of the different Elements you are converting. Therefore it adds a huge amount of damage and is the reason we can get to our levels of damage without scaling Crit or going for an Ascendancy like Assassin that adds an explicit way of scaling.

Weave the Arcane

Wave the Arcane has been covered explicitly before, but as this notable offers you a decent amount of Mana recovery if you use skills, you’re going to “abuse” this by using a lot of Brands. Next up, your Movement Skill is going to be free, so that is also used to proc this Mana Recovery. On top of that, since you’re spending a ton of Mana naturally, you’re getting a ludicrous amount of Cast Speed, which Penance Brand adores! This notable is a lot more potent then most people give it credit for!

Bandits

There really only is one option here. You want to kill all (help Eramir) for Skill Points. Sure, getting some Resistances and Mana Regeneration from Alira isn’t terrible as a league starter but capping resistances should be possible without it! Eramir just offers so much flexibility that it almost always is better than the others!

Pantheons

Major Gods

Soul of Lunaris is probably your best pick. No one has ever said no to some extra Physical Damage Reduction!

Minor Gods

I would recommend Soul of Yugul as this allows you to get near Curse Immune which is a solid way to get there after the removal of Warding flasks.

Upgrading your Pantheons

Whilst upgrading your Pantheons never hurts you, it’s not that important for this character. If you have nothing else to do at some point, sure, why not, but it shouldn’t be something you focus on or spend a lot of time on.

Pantheon powers can be upgraded by using Divine Vessel Divine Vessel in the Map Device while you are activating the particular Map that contains the boss you need. Once you’ve killed the boss and captured his soul, you need to deliver the Divine Vessel Divine Vessel, which’ll be filled up in the map device, to Sin in Oriath.
