Path of Building

Find our recommended tree from the comfort of Path of Building, available here : https://pobb.in/Zk35N5HgNI78
Make sure you actually open the link here IN the Path of Building program. The website view is poor and will obscure too many details, always open PoB’s in Path of Building (or PoB as we call it).

Included in the Path of Building are skill trees and all gem links. For simplicity’s sake, Elemental Resistances are not included on gear, and you can fill them in as you like depending on available gear.
There is a secondary tree that permits the build to go further. This requires you to change tree, skill group and itemset. There’s notes in the PoB for what is required to access that itemset and I highly suggest you read them!

We use the Path of Building Community Fork for all of our builds, which is highly recommended. If you are encountering errors importing the build, please ensure you are using the Community Fork.

Passive Skill Tree

The most essential keystone is Resolute Technique, which offers a large boost in damage at the expense of no longer being able to critically strike enemies. Bleeding ticks cannot deal Critical Strikes, which makes this keystone even more well suited to this build than most.

Start acquiring the Bleed focused nodes next, not picking up Crimson Dance until you have a fair chance to bleed on Lacerate Lacerate and high attack speed. This will boost your single target damage immensely while in Blood stance, and help you take full advantage of your Ascendancy keystones. _. Jewel sockets should be among your latter priorities but can be acquired earlier if you have very high quality Jewels ready for use in advance.

We recommend leveling as Sword&Board with a little more emphasis on the early Axe nodes, which you can respec out of later on in favour of more bleed damage, defence, and utility.

Gems

Lacerate Lacerate is our main skill and the only 6-Link necessary to incorporate into the build. It works perfectly fine with both 1-Handed and 2-Handed weapons, but we prefer 1-Handed axes by default. The auras we run are Blood and Sand Blood and Sand, which is essential to virtually all Gladiator builds, and transforms Lacerate Lacerate into a far more potent and flexible skill. The Pride Pride aura is also used to debuff nearby enemies and boost our Physical damage far above what it would be by default.

Other links are relatively flexible, but we like to use Vaal Ancestral Warchief Vaal Ancestral Warchief to pump out some extra burst whenever needed. Leap Slam Leap Slam is a good means of getting around and should be picked up as early as possible.
