Velyna's Explosive Concoction Gearing (PoE Necropolis)
Item Searches
- Skin of the Lords – Elemental Overload with RRRGGB sockets.
- Brutal Restraint – Look for flask charges, projectile/elemental damage, and stun avoidance.
- Impossible Escape – Wind Dancer.
- Large Cluster – Can be expensive with all 3 notables, adjust the search to fit your budget.
- Medium Cluster – Concoction skills are difficult to scale, so these projectile clusters are nice.
- Small Cluster – 2 passive Enduring Composure.
Gear
This is a detailed explanation of why I wear these items, based on a gear level somewhere between Endgame and God PoB’s.
Helm
An armour/evade base is ideal, pure evasion works also. Both of the implicits here are aimed at fitting in our auras and sustaining mana so don’t forget them. Accuracy is important for maximizing DPS, but it doesn’t have to be here, it can also be on gloves or ring.
Amulet
Any +1 to lightning/fire/cold gems with life/resist will last you a long time. Upgrading to +2 is massive when you can afford it. The -mana cost can be skipped depending on your situation.
Chest
Skin of the Lords with Elemental Overload.
In the early phases, wear Skin of the Loyal and path over to Elemental Overload.
Boots
Using Stormshroud it’s very easy to achieve ailment immunity with just the boot slot. Roll something decent with Deafening Essence of Torment then craft the Eldritch implicits.
Gloves
This is a massive slot for DPS, both implicits are powerful while being easy to roll yourself with eldritch orbs. Open prefix for leech damage, plus high life and however much resist you can get can run quite expensive but it’s worth it. Spell suppress is not always needed here, it depends on the rest of your gear.
Belt
Life and flask stuff here, plus damage. The flask gain is most important, get that plus life and resists first.
Shield
Armour/evasion base, or pure evasion if you must. Spell suppression plus ailment makes this a huge defensive slot so if you are dying a lot get those covered.
Rings
Perfect place to cover accuracy, attributes, or resists that you are missing. Plus life and elemental attack damage.
Jewels
Uniques
- Watcher's Eye: The end goal here is “% attack damage with Precision” plus a Determination mod. You can go for phys damage reduction, armour or reduced critical damage with Determination they are all good.
- Impossible Escape: Wind Dancer impossible escape gives access to a ton of valuable nodes without having to path to them. Not required until you upgrade to the Skin of the Lords chest armour.
- Forbidden Flesh/ Forbidden Flame: When you have both you gain an extra ascend node. Raider, Pathfinder, or Slayer all work so get the cheapest.
- Brutal Restraint: When the jewel says Balbala for the name, it will turn any keystones in radius into The Traitor. Plus it gives stuff like stun avoid, projectile damage, flask charge gain, etc.
Cluster Jewels
Large: Feed the Fury and Martial Prowess are most important if you can only get two, but it is worth upgrading to the 3 node later on as it helps when min/maxing gear.
Medium: We use 3 of these, all the same with Eye to Eye + Repeater. Both of these are very high value nodes.
Small: Enduring composure gives us reliable endurance charge generation, and we can score some attributes and/or resists here as well.
Flasks
Life
Sapphire+Topaz

Explosive Concoction will consume charges from these flasks without activating them, so the best thing here is to craft “Gain Charges when you are Hit by an Enemy “ or “% increased charges gained” combined with the charge gain implicit. This implicit has no downside for us.
Utility
Since we need topaz and sapphire, plus an open slot for The Traitor, there is only one available utility slot. I usually run a granite.
