Hardcore-viable Builds for Path of Exile (The Forbidden Sanctum 3.20)

HC or Hardcore in Path of Exile means when you start a new character you will have the option to start it with the hardcore modifier. Hardcore means you cannot die and when you die it’s permadeath and you would have to restart the character. Unlike other ARPG your character will not completely disappear, but it will be transferred to Standard together with the gear you acquired on the character. The items in your stash stay in Hardcore and can be used for your next character.

Surviving Hardcore comes mostly down to your own playstyle of course but you can limit your risk a lot by having the right defences. Maxing out your block chance or your evasion, having high physical damage reduction or making use of the recently added spell suppression beside a high life pool. Hardcore will be a hard learning process and not our advice for you to start with. It’s better to learn the game on Trade league.

Builds tagged as Hardcore are deemed sufficiently survivable that they can be played in Hardcore mode. We can only advise the build; your survival does depend on how you gear your character
