Velyna's Ground Slam Slayer Gearing (PoE Necropolis)
Item Searches
Click to load a premade search for items.
Brutal Restraint – This search includes a bunch of good rolls, they are also in PoB so you can check what each gives.
Large Cluster Jewel – All three notables are super strong, but you can turn skip one at first and upgrade later if you must.
Small Cluster Jewel – Enduring Composure with max 2 passives, and you can turn on DEX in the search as well.
Briskwrap Coloring
The easiest, most reliable way to color your chestpiece is with the crafting bench.
1. Set the chest to 3 sockets.
2. Craft at least 3 red sockets.
3. Set to 4 sockets.
4. If the 4th socket doesn’t land red, set back to 3.
5. Once the 4th red is in place, repeat with the 5th.
6. The last socket is expensive so hope it hits green first try.
Until you get the colors right, you can use Concentrated Effect Support or Faster Attacks Support to replace some red gems.
Gear
This section contains details about why I wear these items, based on a gear level somewhere between Endgame and God PoB’s.
Helm
A fantastic helmet would look something like this. Just roll a base with chaos resistance fractured using Deafening Essence of Sorrow.
Early game you probably cannot run the attack damage implicit and should go for reservation efficiency instead.
Amulet
Astramentis is all you need, beating it with crafting is difficult and gains are marginal. Make sure to get one that’s high rolled and add Intrinsic Catalyst.
Chest
Hard to beat Briskwrap, but you can craft better.
Boots
Another slot with a very strong unique, you will be wearing Garukhan's Flight for the entire game. With enchants removed in 3.23, go for a useful corrupt like +1 max endurance charges.
Belt
Cyclopean Coil is all you need, start by getting one with a perfect 15% attribute roll.
Next add 20% quality with Intrinsic Catalyst.
When you get rich enough, catalyst a second one and double corrupt it for a chance at 2 implicits. There are many good outcomes but you especially want %dexterity or aura effect.
Rings
One ring absolutely needs Vulnerability on hit, from either a Warlord or Synthesis base.
Other than that look for whatever resists you need, life and very high DEX. If you get synth bases, you can roll with Deafening Essence of Sorrow or Fundamental Fossil to hit high dexterity.
These are examples of very basic synth rings, remember the base type doesn’t matter here:
Jewels
- Brutal Restraint: This jewel puts DEX on small nodes in its radius, and adds a bonus stat to every medium node. The medium node bonuses are determined by the jewels number, two brutal restraints with the same number will always have the same bonuses. They can be annoying to search for, so I put a premade search at the top of this page along with a video.
- Watcher's Eye: Impales last 2 additional hits is the big mod here. You could also go for pride double damage with a determination mod.
- Forbidden Flesh: Combined with a matching Forbidden Flame, you can gain an extra Ascend point. I use Master of Metal, because it’s a DPS boost in all content while also giving 1000 flat armour.
- Ancestral Vision: This plus Magebane provides half of our elemental ailment immunity.
Cluster Jewels
- One With Nothing: This is where we get our Hollow Palm keystone.
Large: Maximum 8 added passives with Martial Momentum, Martial Prowess, and Feed the Fury. All of these are important because we need high accuracy for Precise Technique.
Small: Enduring composure gives us reliable endurance charge generation, and we can score some attributes and/or resists here as well.
Flasks
Only one slot is unique, so a fair bit of freedom here. The Lion's Roar should be bought fairly early, usually not too expensive and a lot of value.
- Life Flask: This is the setup I run, feel free to change it to your preference.
- Quartz Flask: Phasing is just too strong to pass up, especially with this many utility slots.
- Amethyst Flask: There is just too much chaos damage in the game to ignore it anymore. I often cover my resistance with one of these, especially for bosses.
I leave the last slot up to you! A silver or quicksilver is usually the option people take.
